Mustang Island
Well it is a little further south so a bit warmer. The park is in Port Aransis which is one of those tourist places with few people now but will be packed later. This is where the Whooping Cranes come to fool around. Big fishing area but real friendly. Shuttle bus to town cost .25c. Was a cold drive as heater in truck cap quit coming here yesterday. Bus driver dropped us at Woody's garage who said to bring it in tomorrow & he'll fix it. Pond in park is full of neat birds. Internet is slow here.

Boxing Day
Christmas Day was cold - coldest yet with a nasty wind. Actually got down to freezing so only the alpacas felt at home. Yesterdays party went well with lots of food and Rum Punch. Park owner gave us run of the party room so the Canadians will be known here for parties.
Party was almost ruined by this buffalo so he had to be sorted by yours truly. He won't mess with Canadians anymore. Leaving for South Padre Island in the morning and this week is supposed to get real warm so that is good.

Christmas Eve
Well this seems weird. At least the sand is white.. Not complaining though. Staying at Jamaica Beach, still on Galveston Island. Place has all the ammenities- water, sewage, hydro, wifi, cable tv. Weekly rate is $225 so not bad for being next to the gulf & nice beach- Has pool & hot tub also. Lots of Canucks & we are Pub crawlin with them Having a Christmas Pot Luck party with them tomorrow. Buying fresh shrimp from the boats in the harbour - great. This is our Chrislmas palm tree & now I gotta go & try & put reindeer antlers on an alpaca

December 15
Decided to stay in Galveston till after Christmas. Nice park on the island with all the toys. Visited with Mary's son Brian for a couple of days as he is moving from Houston to Chicago - That's gonna hurt !!
They have a bunch of alpaca's here - not sure why, but they are kinda neat & friendly.
Found out that fast action must be taken when "THE SHITTERS FULL".. or, it can back up inside and get into the shower base (where the litter box is - AAAAHHH !!). Brian gave his mother a loaded media box for Christmas with lots of movies & tv shows on it. Nice cycling here.

December 9
Well, the Big Easy sure wasn’t easy at rush hour trying to drive an RV. Actually a good time was had in the French Quarter where there are apparently no rules about anything. This place makes Vegas look normal. Spent a couple of days there & even did the tourist thing on an old paddle wheeler on the Missississippippinini river. Great food here so no place to diet.. Off to Houston/Galveston.

Dec 4
The fact is that the propane pumps had too many steel posts around them so me removing one with the RV was actually doing the dealer a favour !! Other than that, and killling the battery by running the furnace without the generator all night, things are smoothing out. Left Windsor Dec 1 & got as far as Beaverdam, Ohio before pulling over due to blowing snow. Got up at 2:00am the next morning and drove to just past Nashville that night. Next day, got to Memphis around noon. Staying on Houndog Lane at Heartbreak Hotel RV Park which is at the end of Lonely Street (Nope, I ain't kidding). Toured Graceland in the P.M. & was actually quite impressed but the tacky souvenirs were hillarious. My fave was a Mr. Potato Head Elvis.. Today gonna rest & head to Beale St. downtown Memphis tonight. I hear there might be a few Blues Clubs in the Vicinity.
