As you can see we were chased out of the Badlands by this dinosaur and went through the rest of the states quickly to get to Ontario because we knew that even dinosaurs wouldn't go through Detroit !!

Badlands

South Dakota Badlands is a huge area of dick all but very beautiful. As you approach it is the town of Wall which has the worlds largest Drug Store and I think the whole town works there. It got it's start by providing free ice water to those about to cross the Badlands.

The Native name for this area translates as "Sick Earth".

Crazy Horse

We found this even more spectacular than Rushmore. One family has been building it with only donations and have refused government money as the government would like control and would likely screw it up. The size is mind boggling. It will be the largest sculpture in the world and Mt. Rushmore is about the size of Crazy Horses face.

Great museum here. This saddle was just being donated by natives as we arrived.

All you can say is impressive !! One of the most photographed spots on earth and deservedly so. An incredible work of art.

Black Hills

Very scenic area with lots of  Old West lore. Wild Bill Hickock was murdered & buried in Deadwood and Calamity Jane buried next to him. The town is being restored to an old west tradition.

The Kid was born in the town of Sundance, not far from here.
